Accessibility Statement
Last updated: July 29, 2026
Our Commitment
quaer.ai is committed to making our legal intelligence platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA, the standard adopted by the U.S. Department of Justice under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) Title III and referenced by Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
Conformance Status
We have implemented the following accessibility features across our platform:
- Skip to main content link for keyboard navigation (WCAG 2.4.1)
- Semantic landmarks — proper use of
<main>,<nav>,<header>, and<footer>(WCAG 1.3.1) - Keyboard accessible — all interactive elements operable without a mouse (WCAG 2.1.1)
- Visible focus indicators on all focusable elements (WCAG 2.4.7)
- ARIA labels on icon-only buttons, form inputs, and dynamic controls (WCAG 4.1.2)
- Color contrast meeting 4.5:1 ratio for normal text and 3:1 for large text (WCAG 1.4.3)
- Form error identification with descriptive messages and ARIA live regions (WCAG 3.3.1)
- Descriptive page titles and proper heading hierarchy (WCAG 2.4.2, 1.3.1)
- HTML lang attribute set to
enfor screen reader pronunciation (WCAG 3.1.1) - Responsive design — functional at 200% zoom and on mobile devices (WCAG 1.4.4, 1.4.10)
Known Limitations
While we strive for full conformance, the following areas may have limitations:
- Citation source viewer PDF content may not be fully screen-reader accessible. We are working on adding text alternatives.
- The D3 citation graph visualization is a visual-only feature. The underlying citation data is available in tabular format as an alternative.
- Third-party content embedded from external data sources may not meet our accessibility standards.
